Restoring Color, Rebuilding Confidence: Advanced Repigmentation Protocols
Vitiligo, often socially termed "Leucoderma," is an autoimmune condition where the skin loses its natural pigment. In the Indian context, where the contrast between the white patches and the naturally melanin-rich skin is high, the psychological burden can be immense. It is crucial to understand that Vitiligo is strictly a skin condition—it is not contagious, not painful, and not caused by "bad blood" or dietary errors. At Clinic7, we approach Vitiligo with a dual focus: halting the progression of active spots (stabilization) and stimulating the skin to recover its natural color (repigmentation).
The Autoimmune Attack on Pigment
Vitiligo is the result of a specific biological conflict. Your immune system possesses "memory T-cells" designed to attack viruses. In Vitiligo, these cells make a coding error and mistakenly identify your Melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) as foreign invaders.
The immune system launches a targeted attack, destroying these melanocytes in the basal layer of the epidermis. Without melanocytes, the skin cannot produce melanin, leaving behind the characteristic white, depigmented patches. This process can be triggered by stress, physical trauma to the skin (Koebner phenomenon), or genetic predisposition

The Clinic 7 Clinical Advantage
Home remedies cannot stop an autoimmune attack. Clinical intervention is time-sensitive; treating Vitiligo early significantly increases the success rate of repigmentation.
Immune Stabilization: We use advanced JAK inhibitors and steroid-sparing immunomodulators to calm the "overheated" immune system, stopping the spread of new patches immediately.
Awakening Dormant Cells: We utilize Narrowband UVB and Excimer Light therapy to stimulate the dormant melanocyte stem cells hiding in your hair follicles, encouraging them to migrate out and recolor the white skin.

FAQs
Is Vitiligo contagious?
Absolutely not. You cannot catch Vitiligo from touching someone, sharing food, or living in the same house. It is strictly an internal genetic/autoimmune trait.
Did eating fish with milk cause this?
No. This is a very common myth in India. There is no scientific evidence linking specific food combinations (like fish and milk or sour foods) to the onset of Vitiligo.
Can the color come back completely?
Yes, especially on the face, neck, and trunk. Areas with hair follicles respond best because that is where the pigment "reserve" lives. Bony areas like fingertips and toes are harder to repigment but can be stabilized.
Is it genetic? Will my children get it?
There is a genetic component, but it is not a direct inheritance. Having Vitiligo slightly increases the risk for your children, but the vast majority of children of parents with Vitiligo do not develop the condition.
Is the treatment painful?
No. Phototherapy (light treatment) is painless, feeling only like a mild warmth. Surgical options are performed under local anesthesia with minimal recovery time.
