Restore Uniformity: Clinical Solutions for Sun Damage and Dullness
Achieving an even, radiant skin tone is a primary aesthetic goal for many Indian patients. However, our skin type is genetically prone to rapid tanning and "mottling"—irregular patches of pigmentation caused by cumulative sun exposure and environmental pollutants. Unlike the face, the body is often neglected, leading to a distinct "dual-tone" appearance where the arms, neck, and back are significantly darker or duller than the rest of the body. At Clinic7, we address body pigmentation systemically and topically to restore a seamless, uniform complexion.
The Melanin Defense Mechanism
Your skin tone is defined by the activity of Melanocytes. In Indian skin (Fitzpatrick types IV-V), these cells are highly reactive. When exposed to UV radiation or pollution, they produce excess melanin as a protective umbrella for the cell nucleus.
While this protects against sunburn, the distribution of this melanin is often uneven, leading to hyperpigmented patches. Furthermore, a buildup of dead skin cells (Keratinocytes) on the surface traps this pigment, resulting in a lackluster, "ashy" or greyish appearance that prevents light from reflecting off the skin surface efficiently.

The Clinic 7 Clinical Advantage
Standard body lotions hydrate the surface but do not regulate pigment production. Our clinical treatments work on two levels: exfoliating the damage and inhibiting new pigment formation.
Enzymatic Resurfacing: We use high-potency body peels (Glycolic, Kojic, or TCA) that dissolve the "glue" holding dead, pigmented cells together, revealing the fresh, unblemished skin beneath.
Laser Toning: Using large-spot Q-Switch lasers, we gently heat the deeper layers of the skin to break up stubborn pigment clusters without causing surface burns or downtime.
Systemic Brightening: For patients seeking overall glow, we offer IV therapy cocktails containing Glutathione and Vitamin C. These potent antioxidants neutralize free radicals from within, shifting the body's melanin production from dark (Eumelanin) to lighter (Pheomelanin).
FAQs
Is this the same as "skin bleaching"?
Absolutely not. Bleaching uses harsh chemicals to strip color and can damage the skin barrier. Our treatments focus on health—removing sun damage and dead cells to reveal your natural, genetically true skin tone.
Will my tan go away immediately?
A tan is deep dermal damage. While a single peel provides an instant "glow," removing a deep tan typically requires a series of 3-4 treatments to cycle through the skin's regeneration process.
Is IV Glutathione safe?
Yes, when administered by a medical professional. It is a naturally occurring antioxidant in the body. We use strictly regulated, medical-grade formulations to ensure safety and efficacy.
Can I go in the sun after treatment?
You must be cautious. Freshly treated skin is sensitive. We strongly advise using a high-SPF body sunscreen and protective clothing for at least a week post-treatment to prevent the pigmentation from returning.
Does it hurt?
Chemical peels may cause a mild tingling or "ant-bite" sensation for a few minutes. Laser toning feels like a warm prickling. Both are very well tolerated without anesthesia.
